The world of IT is a great thing. Using your smartphone, you can be in one place and change things in another. For example, I was using Telegram bots. I have almost finished some experiments and will create one bot to help me do my job more efficiently. Today, I found one more place to have lunch; it was a quiet place.

Time for updates and new solutions

The weather is so cool, and I have lunch outside. During the lunch, I thought. I need to keep the ITBumer project but split domains. All content from the website itbumper.com has to be moved to the itbumper.ru. The same goes for mail domains. I think it is the right time to do this. While I have an infrastructure opportunity, I will run all services there, although, in the US, businesses use AWS and Google Cloud. I will find out how it works, but it will be later. Next week, I would like to spend time with the Cisco Packet Tracer. I need to refresh my knowledge and make some cheat sheets.

And here’s a picture of the place where I stopped for lunch. What a fantastic weather!

IT Generalist`s home hardware

There was a lack of functionality and speed of a firewall, so I bought a more powerful one at a garage sale.
When I brought it home, I found that something was making noise inside, so I opened it.
It turned out that the mount that holds the CPU cooling radiator was broken.
I had to apply a new thermal paste, and instead of fastening, I used ordinary nylon ties; it turned out very well. The only problem is that it is noisy; no matter what I do, the noise level cannot be reduced.
There is a lot of hardware at home. It’s time to buy a wall case and take all the equipment into the corridor.
A small matter remains: Buying a wall case and throwing cables into the corridor.

Winds of Change

The winds are blowing differently, and it’s time to set a new sail to reach new horizons. With this thought in mind, I embarked on my new project.

First, I set up a virtual machine on KVM, installed and configured NGINX and MySQL from the local repository, and then installed and configured WordPress. After that, I set up DNS records and configured the firewall. I checked everything – it works perfectly.

The official launch date of this project is July 8, 2024. This marks a new phase in my professional journey, and I’m excited to share it with you. There’s much more to come, so stay tuned!
